I left off on Tuesday with some delicious filet mignon, my first sight of Jupiter up close, and a post-bath selfie (scandalous!) Be sure to read part one of our girls trip to the hill country here!
Heather and I shared a room and we left the curtains open just a tad on Friday night so we wouldn't sleep TOO late on vacation. We didn't realize our room was facing due east so even though the curtains were open only about 1 foot, our room was basked in sunlight at 7am, which is when we woke up.
Honestly, I didn't mind waking up that early because I woke up refreshed (thanks to some awesome Marriott beds - seriously, we're due for a new bed in a few years and I now know where I'm getting it!) and got to see this view:
I said 'wow!', grabbed my camera, and just started shooting off the balcony. The foggy mist on the golf course was unreal and my camera did all the work; I could barely see anything! It was gorgeous and a great way to start the day!
After a walk down to Starbucks (within the resort - so convenient!) and around the hotel, we put on our suits and headed down to the pool!
The main pool area (seen above in my pictures) is called the "River Bluff Experience" and includes a kids pool, beach entry pool, slides, two lazy rivers, and the adult pool and hot tub. The resort doesn't offer lockers at the moment (they will in a few years after a big renovation, though!) so we left all of our valuables in our room and I don't have any live photos of our time there. We did a few laps in the lazy river and then headed to the adult pool. I liked the adult pool because it was still bustling and felt connected to the resort but it was exclusive to adults and had a great infinity-edge view to the golf course. I had some chips and queso and just took in the view and did some people watching. I loved it!
You can see more photos of the pool from my first post here!
After the pool, we headed up to the room to get our things and then went over to the Lantana Spa for lunch and a swim.
We took a quick tour of the spa's amenities and promised to come back and try some of them out! They had a jacuzzi, steam room, sauna, and inhalation room, along with special lounge areas, infused waters, and fully stocked showers.
After doing a bit of exploring, we made our way out to the ultra-private spa pool. To gain access to the amenities or the pool, you must either book a spa service (massage, facial, pedicure) or purchase spa passes. The J.W. Marriott kindly provided passes for us so we could take advantage of this amazing perk. The spa grounds were awesome and it is totally worth a trip!
We snagged a poolside cabana and set up camp for the rest of the afternoon.
Here, we enjoyed our lunch from Replenish including grilled cheese and tomato basil soup, a turkey wrap and sweet potato fries, and a fruit and yogurt parfait. It was delicious and so fun to eat by the pool!
We stayed at the spa pool for the entire afternoon enjoying cold drinks and occasional naps. It was wonderful!
That night, we got all cleaned up and went into town for some fajitas at Lupe Tortilla. We ended the night chatting on the balcony and started the next morning the same way!
We opted to stay in our 'comfies' and lounge around on our last morning at the resort and I don't regret it at all. Then we packed up and headed out.
We had a wonderful time together as girls and I always love visiting the hill country. The resort was everything and more that I'd expected and it was the perfect getaway! If you're in the area (or even if you're not!) I HIGHLY, highly suggest checking into the J.W. Marriott Hill Country Resort and Spa for your next getaway. There, you'll find the perfect balance of relaxation, activity, and luxury. It will be an experience to remember!
Thank you so much to the J.W. Marriott Hill Country Resort and Spa for your hospitality during our stay. We loved it and we will be back!
