five on Friday | Beau

Five weeks, that is! Beau is growing up right in front of our eyes!

I haven't been great at taking weekly photos and sometimes he just isn't cooperative. I don't plan on dousing you guys with a post per week based on his growth, but I'll share some here and there. I liked the pictures I got this week so I wanted to post!

Beau started smiling back at us this week! It's just the sweetest thing, especially when it's accompanied by a squeal! Oh yeah, he still does this too...

He has been extra fussy this week. I think he's gassy and having a growth spurt all at the same time. He wants to eat more often than usual and then the next day he is sleeping ALL DAY LONG. I enjoyed the day that he slept for so long (I did laundry! and dishes! and swept the floor!) but the fussy day was not great.

He also pooped in his car seat this week. That was a milestone I could have skipped! Luckily it wasn't too bad.

We think he is starting to look more like Mark and I definitely see it in this photo:

The jury is still out on his hair color (he's already lost quite a bit of baby hair) and eye color.

He has started stretching out more instead of being curled up like a newborn. He used to love being cradled (and still likes to be held) but he surprises me every once in a while when I lay him down and he stops crying and calms down. I think the boy just needs his space sometimes!

Speaking of space...He can be clingy (we still haven't mastered sleeping in our crib) so after the photo shoot I just plopped right down next to him to edit photos and blog. Plus, I needed to make sure he was breathing. ;)

We love our boy and can't believe it has been five weeks since our lives changed so drastically!

.....................................................................

p.s. Thank you everyone for all of your kind words of encouragement, notes of prayer, and private messages after Wednesday's post. To say I was overwhelmed with responses is an understatement. Not only does it feel good to be able to talk about it, but we've been introduced to a new community of those that have dealt with this disorder and are willing to share their experiences with us. We've also learned of friends of friends that are doctors and specialists in the field and we are moving forward with setting up appointments with these people. We are feeling your prayers and our increasing peace about the situation proves that it is working! I will continue to update you as things progress and as we learn anything new about Beau and whatever we are facing. Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts.
