New Year's Eve 2013

Welcome to 2014!

Mark and I decided to host a semi-small New Year's Eve party this year at our house. It was the first 'big event' that we've had and I was super nervous about it! I didn't have the foresight to take the 31st off of work so we scrambled when I got home at 6pm to get everything ready. I might have said "oh good!" when my sister arrived early at 7:30, but all in all I was able to throw on my sparkly shirt just in time for the party to start.

My sister Angela and her husband Chris.

We all know the food is the most important part, so here are a few shots...

I had these three refreshing juices on hand as well as some bubbly for the occasion, jazzed up with some sequins, of course!

I've been saving wine corks for a long time and people have asked me what I was going to do with them. I found a great use for them to hold food labels, and I really like how they added to my theme!

I had s'mores ready for our fire pit outside, which was a success this time!

We had the A&M football game on for most of the party, which was perfect for keeping the guys occupied...

...while the rest of the crowd enjoyed talking or playing giant Jenga, provided by Kelly and her fiancé.

When the game was over, we started a fun game of celebrity! It's one of my favorite group games and always gets everyone involved!

It was neck and neck the whole way and we ended with a tie!

We turned on the TV right at 11:55 and counted down until midnight! There's me, skeptical and hesitant until it's EXACTLY midnight! haha

My cousins and their husbands joined us!

We shouldn't have given Courtney a device that makes noise...

This is a pretty candid photo, so I had to include it! I've known these boys since 6th grade!

This photo is horrible quality (thanks iPhone) but I HAD to share. Jimmy and Courtney traveled about 8 hours to be with us! (all the way from Arlington, which is only 50 miles...sarcasm is hard)

We had a fun night with friends, food, and fun and we count our first big event as a success! Can't wait to throw more of these parties in 2014!

Happy New Year!!!
